14 - Carried away

"Carried Away" is an abstract art drawn in 2D painted using water colours.

It is a reflection of the tree's in the up country. The title reflects the wind creating an effect on trees in the up country.

The title reflects the wind creating an effect on trees. The circular branches are a reflection of it's impact. This is just a pure natural observation of mine abstracted.

And also in 2007-2010 I attended a Chandragupta Thenuwara : Art Exhibition at Lionel Wendt, Colombo.

He drew an art of "camouflage clothing" creating a 3D effect by applying shading, That artistic style has clear impact from it.

Chandraguptha Thenuwara was born in 1960, Sri Lanka.

He studied painting at the Moscow State Institute, USSR between 1985 - 1992. In 1993 he founded the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts (VAFA), an artist run school and exhibition space.

His art focuses on issues surrounding the impact of war in Sri Lanka. In response to this overwhelming crisis he has devised his own stylistic formulation, which he has called 'Barrelism'. In 1997 the artist launched his ongoing series of camouflage works entitled "Barrelism" at the Heritage Gallery, Colombo.

He lives and works in Colombo.
